A B O U T U S
Ain't I a Scholar was inspired by Sojourner Truth’s Ain’t I Woman speech in 1863. Ain't I a Woman speech is recognized as the most famous abolitionist and women’s rights speech in American history. She spoke out for the rights of African Americans and women during and after the Civil War. As a result, her speech gave fuel to the movement that abolished enslavement and provided women the right to vote.
Ain't I A Scholar was created by a scholar to bridge the global achievement debt in education through advocacy. Just like Sojourner we advocate for scholars in order to lift scholars out of the margins of education. As a result, Ain’t I A Scholar has assisted over 3,000 students obtain high school diplomas and matriculate towards higher education since 2008.
We provide relevant and resourceful information for scholars and parents. We use tools to help them to understand and navigate the educational system and the real world.
